I share a lot of these things, although most are probably to a lesser degree than you are describing. Like the Styrofoam--I can tolerate it, but it gives me a small cringe. Nails or chalk scraped across a blackboard--now that's a big one! I think fewer things bother me than they used to, although many still do. Kids crying may or may not bother me. If they have that especially loud and sharp type of cry, I want to shriek at the parent, "Get that kid out of here!" However, I don't, because many parents do try to quiet their kids down or take them outside, and I know most parents don't want their kids to be squalling, either. They don't get to get away from it like I can. Some kids don't bother me, though, mostly depending on the mood I'm in, and if the crying isn't that piercing kind of cry.

My bird, Loki, is the most wondrous, wonderful bird in the world. However. When he screeches, it's not a pleasant sound. But a couple of screeches, that I can bear. When he screeches on and on and on, I want to run out of the house. I notice he usually does it when he looks at his reflection in the mirror in his cage (he thinks it's another bird). I told my bf we should take it out (even though I was the one who chose it for him), but he feels Loki screeches less and is better behaved around us as long as he has the mirror. Luckily, he doesn't go into these screeching jags too often. You want to hear birds screeching? Go to a bird store. I mean an exotic bird store, with real birds. Look for the cockatoos...now they can screech, and put my Loki to shame! Check out the macaws, too! Still, love them all!

My boyfriend would be horrified to know this, but I find drum corps and marching bands annoying. I don't know if I could bear it if I were in the stadium, because I can't handle loud noise so close. I don't go to music concerts. I went to a nightclub once for a party attached to a Buffy the Vampire Slayer convention, and OMG, the bands were LOUD!!! Holy crap! My bf and I didn't stay long, and my ears were ringing badly. I was honestly worried I'd damaged my hearing. I couldn't believe there were people dancing right by the speakers on the stage!
