IMHO, I agree with HazelGirl, as far as I know flashbacks that connect to a past trauma
is PTSD.
We cannot go back and change the past, but what really helps is reminding yourself that "yes" that happened, but you survived it and you are "ok" now. The more you do that the weaker the flashback will be, the goal is to get whatever it is to be "just a memory" that doesn't have the emotional challenges anymore. Everything we see and experience are things we retain in our memory, but these things are "passed" and we learn from them.
I think you should get another opinion about your diagnoses.
