I saw that someone started a thread about song lyrics representing (not sure that's the correct word here) how we feel. Somehow that sort of got me thinking about life, what I've been going through and music I've listened to. I was reminded of a song I used to listen to during my first and/or second year of high school. I was already very depressed by then and I also had an eating disorder and anxiety. I kept everything to myself though and I had never spoken to a psychologist or anyone about what I went through.
One day a classmate sent me a song she liked and told me to listen to it. I did and in a way that sort of saved me at the time. The song my classmate sent was You're Not Alone by Saosin and I remember how I used to spend a lot of time alone on the swings in the park, listening to the song over and over and over again for hours and just staying alive.
You're not alone
There is more to this, I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell
Still gives me goosebumps.
(Just wanted to share.)
