I've been on most of the OCD drugs, except Zoloft. I used to be on one or another, but now I get combinations. I'm on Anafranil (actually, it's the generic, Clomipramine, because the original makers of Anafranil dropped it), Xanax (generic, Alprazolam), and Citralopram (that's the generic name; I forget the brand name). I was on Risperdal, but my physician felt I should get off some of the drugs I'm on, so my pdoc let me wean off of it, and I'm also weaning off the Citralopram. Those are actually for OCD and panic disorder. I'm also on other meds for physical conditions.

When I first took Anafranil, years and years ago, when it was still being made, it worked remarkably well. I didn't think it was helping much after a few weeks, but then one day, I woke up and my head was tingling. I realized I didn't feel so "OCDish" and, over time, I seemed to be about 85% better. Other drugs have helped quite a bit (like Paxil), but they had side effects that were too problematic. That's a laugh--all of them have side effects that are too problematic, but I can't function without the meds. I have almost no sex drive, and it depresses me greatly. I miss that eager, young girl I once was.
