She says she's in Australia, that's the way it works here for the most part. Our GPs work alongside our Pdocs so we get more of an integrated treatment plan. We go to a GP, they refer us to a Pdoc, or one of the government clinics if we qualify, then the Pdoc does an assessment, decides what treatment is best (medication, talk therapy, etc) and works in conjunction with the GP usually letting the GP handle the med management for things like AntiDepressants so that they are freed up to do more non medication management things.

Sorry I'm rambling a bit, but we have a different system here and it might not be perfect, but it has improved a lot in the last few years and having our GPs and Pdoc's working together in a unified front can actually be beneficial.

You seem determined to bash anyone and everyone's Pdoc regardless of how good or bad they are. You may not like your Pdoc, but some of us do so please don't tar us all with the same brush.
