Just curious, why can't you quit? I mean I realize a job is very important but if I were you I wouldn't try to settle there. It's clearly not a good place for you to be working.

And if you absolutely must keep working there out of desperation, I am truly sorry, because I have been in that position before. In that case I would suggest that you keep looking for something that is better suited for you and get out of that shoe store job as soon as something else comes up.
