Nightlight you ARE good enough. You are worth it, same as we all are. It's just been pure dumb luck that I stumbled into the path of a therapist who thinks as she does - hopefully the random nature of the universe will see that you meet a therapist who thinks that way too, soon.
And as an aside I'm really annoyed at the remark of the therapist about 'entitlement'. Wtf?! So many of us in therapy struggle with feeling we don't deserve care and love and good things, that we hardly dare to have needs. And we honestly are deserving. All human beings are. I'd find that remark so invalidating. Fair enough if they said 'I can't give you x, because my boundaries mean I don't do a sliding scale' but not cool to make it about a damning reference to 'entitlement'.
