I'm on Dexedrine for ADD and it also helps my depression because it focuses my mind and keeps depressive thoughts from sneaking in so much during my daily activities. My doctor has no problem prescribing stimulants as long as the person doesn't have a history of addiction issues or full-blown mania, which I don't.
