My therapist charges $100 per hour. It was $80 until a couple weeks ago. I pay out of pocket as she's out of network. She receives half of it, the other half is fees.

I could see someone in network for the cost of $30 per hour and insurance premiums, but my therapist is special, I wouldn't want to substitute her for anyone. I also get more flexibility with her to do multiple sessions in a week and phone calls pretty much on request.

My therapist did make me promise to tell her if I ever could not afford the fee when she raised hers, that she would work with me no matter what. That was very very much appreciated, though I would never want to have to take her up on the offer.
