Ask the therapist about what the confidentiality policy is. I'm fairly certain they are all required to uphold confidentiality even with minors, but do confirm it, a therapist will never lie about this kind of stuff, if they do lie to you and break confidentiality they could lose their license. I saw a T when I was a minor and my T refused to share my records with my mom, even when she later sued him for said records. Funny thing was I never said anything in therapy because I was always too scared. Now I really regret that because I could have. The only thing they must report is if you say you will hurt yourself or others or molest a kid. Also, if the T worries that you are being abused they are allowed to report it.
