Maybe because most get bussed to school around here and in cities a lot walk?

I live in a big city and they don't shut us down. I live in a huge metropolitan area, actually... the country shuts down here and the city stays open. I remember one year when I was a teenager it snowed in April. Huge branches were falling off of the trees and crushing cars due to the weight of it. A few people were even killed by falling branches that day. But, we were in school that day....

I also live in a district where all the surrounding areas will close but not us. Many times parents have complained about this.

Cracking: 0 degrees and colder is crazy. It actually is cold in your lungs and the air feels sharp when you breathe. We get into the single digits every year but -10 is really cold for us. It's not a record here, though. -25 I would call into work even. LOL.
