You can buy Meals on Wheels meals. Contact local county social services/elderly services (even if you aren't elderly.)
Also, check out Nutri-system. I use them because the food comes boxed without need for refrigeration. I have also gone days without food because of pain flares, in the past. I find QVC.com has the best prices, and you can get on an automatic delivery once a month, can choose 7 days a week or 5 days a week foodstuffs. You still have to buy fruits and fresh veggies, but if you don't have that, there are good foodstuffs in the package that will sustain you. Also, they now have age appropriate adult plans, and are glycemic load/index accurate!
Also, check your local yellow pages for churches with food banks. This food is provided (canned, package stuff) by volunteers and given freely. They often have a volunteer who will deliver on emergency basis.
