AA gave me my start in sobriety, many years ago. I relapsed late last year (only I did it with pills and not booze) but I stayed sober for almost 22 years, and now it's been 4 1/2 monhts again.
I give AA a lot of credit, even though I didn't stick with it very long. They broke through the rest of my denial and got me straightened out on what I needed to do to fix myself.
And I'll be honest with you: All of the good things in my life have come from my sobriety, my career and my relationships and even the fact that I'm on good terms with my kids despite the obvious issues my bipolar caused when they were growing up. The younger 2 have never even seen me drink. I'm proud of that.
