Thanks for that, muaythailady. I guess I'm a bit better, but that's partly the numbness (handy thing, sometimes).
That's so good that to hear, that he was able to 'hear' how you felt and respond well.
I know it's hard when hurt feelings get such a hold and you end up obsessed with what you need to be moving on from ... I hope the suggestions in the replies to the other thread are helpful to you. I've been finding it important and helpful to keep pushing away the tragedy narrative that goes on in my mind when I'm feeling hurt, and replace with awareness/thoughts/pictures/memories that I feel good about. If I'm not able to do that, I'll read or watch something - anything to keep my mind from going in the crazy circles that drag my emotions and sanity down.
