So, I deferred a year of college last year as I was ill. I knew everyone that was in my class then, and could get on with them - on orientation day, I knew nobody, so I drank lots of energy drinks, got really hyper and spoke to EVERYBODY, and they all seemed to like me from then on.
However, I don't know anybody in this class now, and they have been around each other for the past year and a half, so groups of friends has formed within the class, and I just feel so lost.
I find it easy enough to get the confidence up to go say hi to people when it is a group full of people who don't know each other - at least that way I'm trying to connect with an individual. But nobody seems to be on their own in this class and I get too scared to speak to groups of people, especially when I haven't got the slightest idea of whether they would be the kind of people I would get along with, or who would get along with me.
Anybody know ways of making friends in such a big group of people? I really don't know what to do, and it feels far too lonely not having friends in college.
