To prevent it from getting higher. For me - low anxiety is about what most "normal" people would consider high anxiety. High anxiety for me is a full blown panic attack.
For me - anxiety builds upon itself. If I take meds when my anxiety is low, then it's less likely to build up and I don't experience the extreme high anxiety.
I'm attempting to learn how to not be anxious and part of that is to know what my body feels like when I'm relaxed...a state I rarely reach. With the guidance of my pdoc and therapist, I don't take benzo's as needed, I take it daily in a low dose to keep my anxiety low and prevent full blown panic.
