Now, im not a huge fan of Britney's music, nor am i a huge fan of her, but her recent behaviour has got me thinking and has got me concerned.
i just read an article that says she threatened to kill herself, and has broken down once again. i see a new article about her everyday, and i am actualy getting annoyed by the media and the press for this, they are pushing her towards this breakdown so they can sell their papers. she has fallen off the rails and obviously needs good care and attention from loved ones and professionals, and the privacy too, but she is constantly being slammed for any thing she does (granted, she does do silly things!), i think her current situation is a good indicator as to her mental state, so how is it safe and "entertaining" for the media to keep following her and slamming her every move. why do people want to see her destroy herself?
now shes not a saint i know, and she has done so many ridiculous things that are obvious attention seeking actions. im not debating that she hasnt bought this on herself, and that this is part of the job when in that business, but it begs the question:
How far will the press push her before she does the irreversible, ie, suicide? say she does commit suicide, god forbid, imagine the outcry and controversy that will bring. it will be worse than the Anna Nicole Smith situation, and it wil also beg the question, WHO is responsible for it, i know i would partially blame the press. they are so intent on selling papers that they will do anything they possibly can, but they may just push it one step too far this time. a life will be ruined forever, a life that doesnt deserve to end.
Brintey has threatened to kill herself numerous times, and is obviously very unstable, so why cant she be left to recover in her own time, and the press could always turn their attention to other celebs, there are plenty out there who arent unstable. Britney Spears isnt the only celeb in this world.
it also makes me wonder what this is doing to her kids. and if it was to worsen, their lives would be ruined forever too, and for what, so the press can make money? wheres the morality and justification in that?
i think it applies to Robbie Williams too, he has admitted himself to rehab to get help that he feels he needs, yet the press and public seem to condemn him for it, and i just think "what is he doing wrong?".
i think the society we live in where the press dominate is a very sad and very destructvie world.
at which point will enough actually be enough? time will tell. i for one am hoping it isnt too late for her.
