How about we don't let this day, this
commercial day of expressions of love, have the power to take us out! It is actually a Christian feast day of remembrance. None of us has to buy into this commercial guilt trip holiday.
Can we just remind each other who St. Valentine is: a priest martyred on this day according to the Catholic church tradition. In the Roman accounts, he was tortured and killed on this day under the reign of the Emperor Claudius II for marrying Christians instead of following the law that soldiers remain unmarried and chaste...to save their energy for battle. Hence the designation as the patron saint of love.
We are all lovable, whether or not the people around us have the skill or thoughtfulness to express that or not.
I propose that each and every person who opened this thread do one nice thing for someone, whether they deserve it or not. Pets count here too!
Then do one nice thing for yourself. A little extra love is not out of line here! Yes! You! Even You!
Today, I gave myself a small valentine treat, and one for my son. Later we are getting out to see a movie and will order a pizza. I feel lucky and blessed for that.
I hope everyone here, who wants to be remembered on this day, knows that your friends at PC are thinking of you

To all my friends here:

Happy Valentine's Day!
