I just learned about the importance of sleep in my psych class. Sleep hygiene is crucial for school and work. I try to go to bed at the same time everyday, and don't let myself sleep for more than 8 hours. Also, don't do ANYTHING (read, homework, eat, etc.) in your bed, except for sleep. Your mind will start subconsciously associating bed with sleep if you only go there to sleep. If you can't sleep and youve been lying there for 15 mins or longer, get up!! Do something mildly interactive, like playing piano or a little homework, then try to sleep again. Your mind can't associate bed with frustration, that's why it's best to get up in that case.
