Personality disorders and PTSD have quite a bit in common. Both are pretty long-term and both involve pervasive patterns that affect many aspects of daily life.

You certainly don't have to get into any more here than you are comfortable with. It's good that you understand where your feelings are coming from. I think that's a big difference between PTSD and personality disorders. While I think that personality disorders are also a reaction to trauma, there may not be a clear, specific source of the trauma. PTSD seems to have a clearer beginning, with more insight into the cause of the symptoms. PTSD seems to be more specific, where personality disorders are very generalized. So, where there is a specific name that bothers you, and you know why, I am more inclined to think that it is PTSD-related.
