IF you knew he was in trouble, you would have gone over immediately, right? If you knew this and didn't go, then you might be able to think you made a poor decision (taking into account it wasn't against your best interest?)

Your father is my mother's age. It's time to realize that they make their own sometimes stubborn decisions, and they aren't always the best ones. They made their own decisions as an adult, and sometimes age causes them to pay for those decisions.

You are doing the best you can for now, imo. That's all you can do. TC
