My mother's birthday is coming up in April, (her and half my family's, but I digress) She'll be turning 62, and a beautiful 62- mind you, and I would like to get her an assortment of nail polishes, but when I was looking around for suiting colours (she has a glamorous, light cinnamon colored skin) I find posts about how to avoid certain colours if you are an older woman.

Is that fair? I would think that a personality outweighs someone's age (and gender, and physic) Don't older women have the right to paint their nails the same as they did 20, 30 or even 40 years ago? After all, our nails aren't as old as we are, lol.

At the same time, I don't want to embarrass her or put her on the spot if she disagrees with me; it's hard to read her at times, sometimes she's very open-minded and free, while at other times she's very conservative. Also, she's very bright, if I brought up nail polishes now, she'll catch on and ruin the surprise. (No, it is not too early; they (my family) are the 'search in the closet, shake the gift box' type)

What do you think? Is worrying about age and nail colour silly? Or do you think there's a cut off point for certain colours? If you do, what colours would you suggest? Which should I avoid? Should I just go out and get her a laptop or patio furniture instead?

Thank you so much for your time! It all truly helps!
