I prefer the tougher skin, so most of my cuts are on the outside of my calf and thigh (right side) or my ankle. Though I also like the top of my left forearm, and I cover that up as cat scratches because everyone knows that my cat is really aggressive.
I find it doesn't hurt to make the cut, but it starts stinging something fierce about a minute later.
