I find the topic extremely interesting. I have studied Buddhism for more than a decade though I have never taken refuge. My wife and I were married via a ceremony at a local Zendo, however. The thing about all of this is that truth will always remain universal truth regardless of the labels placed upon it. Science points toward the reality of the universe, which has always been the goal of Buddhism from the moment the Buddha himself spoke the first lessons. It changes names, forms, and methods for approaching the concept of truth, but the reality is that what is will always remain what is whether it is science or religion.
