Well, Rose, I tried to use that button, but it didn't seem to do anything. What I do is quote normally and then make copies if I want to multi quote. That can get confusing with a long message, but basically you could break it up into pieces using the start and end tags associated to the message you're replying to.
In this case, the start tag is in square brackets, which I'm leaving out because they are formatting codes: quote=Rose76;3590795
And the end tag must similarly be in square brackets: /quote
That's all I know, though it's only a stopgap, I suppose.
