I'm on trileptal and it's the only med I've had success with, including all the ones I took between 2002 and 2007. I haven't gained any weight (other than from poor winter eatng habits). I do have Seroquel available if episodes get out of hand but I only use it as a last resort as the side effects are largely intolerable.

There's also tegretol - that's the only other one I haven't tried. And topomax, though I hear that's talking out of favor with pdocs.
