A few years ago I was completely addicted to cutting. It was more than a coping mechanism...it was my life. Pain and withdraws and mistrust and a long long process of healing later, I have been "sober" for three years now.
I know how to see the cuts on other people. No matter how hard, I can always tell the difference between 'accident' and 'on purpose'.

Today I had coffee with a friend who's been struggling and she finally admitted to me that she had been cutting. I didn't tell her that I already knew and was waiting for her to open up about it. But this chica, she has definitely been someone...who has been harder to help than most of the other people I've helped in the past.

If you were her, what would be something you would want to hear? What could I tell you that you would find the most helpful?

I know that I can't fix her problems. It's just hard to try and help someone who doesn't think she needs help.
