This is the NHS at it's best ( #worst) giving inappropriate therapy in the hopes it makes you go away, CBT is cheap and quick and that's why they dole it out. My advice is write a letter explaining the issues that still remain for you ie self harm, abandonment issues etc etc explain that you need further more in depth treatment and give the letter to your Dr or write to your CAAMHS team.
Also, look around your area for charities that might offer free counselling, if you're at college they should have a counselling services. Some private therapists will offer a sliding scale too so work out what you could afford and ask them.

My therapist referred me to CAMHS before I left, and so did her line manager last year.
I was with a charity that offered free counselling, and I think my insurance covered the payment - all I know was that I was referred to them in August last year by my GP.
