I guess it depends on dosage, but I, also, do not respond tyically to certain meds.

I tried Xanax once. From what I recalled (there have been more than a few different Rx). I upped the dosage, but when that didn't work, I moved onto Clonapin (spelling?). That helped a bit, but put me in a fog/sleep. I couldn't panic, because I was BLANK... maybe drooled a bit. And (SCARY), but it is also, addictive. That combinded with the blank slate, freaked me out. I figured I had enough problems without complicating things further.

What did help the panic attacks, the insomnia, the utter lack of appetite, the ABILITY to smile.... is some what controversial in certain circles.

Medicinal (NOT recreational) marijuana. While I don't like to go out in public after smoking, I can still function after smoking. It's like hitting a puase on the panic attack. I get jarred from the overwhelming emotions long enough to get perspective. The problems/cause doesn't go away of course, but I can calm enough/distract myself long enough to be okay in finding a moment of peace.

I wish you the best, and hope you can find what works for you.
