It seems as though she is using your fiance as a buffer to relay messages. I completely agree with you that she should be talking to you and not him and it shows a lack of maturity on her part because she is not.
It seems that as kids we were always raised to talk to others when we have problems, but as adults so very few people actually do this. Many just seem to resort to gossip or going through others.
