So my husband of 18 years and i have this kind of dynamic in our relationship. For us I call him Daddy more for the fact that he has taught me so much about how to function in the real world in that time. To clarify, I grew up in foster care from 4-17 mostly behind bars (institutions) 15 different homes and my first childhood memory is of abuse, with nearly every adult I ever knew abusing me in one or multiple ways...yeah so needless to say I more often than not feel so naive about so many things, part of my severe social anxiety.
