If he is going to cheat on you having an iPad will not make any difference. If he is cheating he's cheating, if not then there is nothing to worry about.

I agree he doesn't have a very good track record. You might want to try couples counseling before getting married though, because it sounds like the two of you have a lot to work out. Good luck.
