I don't drink any caffeine past 10am. I do take Melatonin and it seems to help. Chamomile tea does work. I have used it alot but don't currently have any. I had really good sleep patterns until I started on Lamictal. I started at 20mg for two weeks then 40 for two weeks. By then I was getting used to it and getting a good nights sleep. Then I went to 100mg a day and man has it screwed up my sleep. I am kinda surprised because it is not an SSRI. The SSRI's has always screwed up my sleep but I always adapt to them. The best sleep I ever get seems to be sleep 4 hours and wake up every two hours. It seems much more important for me to get the right kind of sleep and not how much i wake up. Effexor has always screwed up stage 4 sleep but then i adapt to it. What also is weird is that they gave me Lunesta to try for two weeks and it didn't do a thing. A couple of years ago they gave me ambien and I had to take three of them for it to do anything. That is the only time i have used sleeping pills. The OTC's don't work for me. They are all just antihistamines. They gave me hydroxyzine for anxiety once which is a prescription antihistamine but it didn't do a thing. I think I will ride it out and see if I adapt before I think about switching again.
