Hi UM, it sounds like everything's just piling up on you. And all this "homework" is kind of defeating the purpose of the benefits of either seeing your therapist or group therapy. BUT maybe if you explain to your therapist and whoever sets "homework" in group therapy how you're feeling there may be some room for negotiation/lightening the load a bit.
I mean, progress IS progress really!! So if you aren't keeping up with their "timescale" what does that matter/what should that matter!! Each step ahead IS a massive thing!! And it needs to work for YOU!!
And perhaps if you ask your therapist to spend a little time in your sessions reviewing where you are with your group therapy inc. some of the "homework" you've done for them, your therapist can actually see where you're going/the progress you're making and give you smaller amounts of more suitable "homework" based on that.
I know there are probably going to be times when things take a step back/get harder for you but what's really important is/are your achievements and using those to help you through darker times. And your achievements really need to be recognized and nurtured.
So all at your own pace UM, and if you don't make "schedules" then if you can just take a little away with you from with you from what you have managed to do then THAT is the main thing.
So, got me? It's all about YOU and what's going to really help YOU, what's right for YOU. Don't lose sight of that and don't let anyone else lose sight of that either!!
Best wishes
Alison
