I get irritated about it. In a perfect world, I could go out and do my business and no one would bother me with small talk, but I live in a small community and everyone is up in everyone's business. People not only ask questions, they ask personal and intrusive questions. I believe that they don't realize that they are being rude. Larger metropolitan area people tend to mind their own business for the most part. Talking about the weather is fine but asking me what my beliefs are, where I grew up, why I didn't have the conventional upbringing is pushing it. I understand that they are curious but a little consideration would also be nice. A lot of times, when in town, I encounter someone who might initially intend to make small talk and ask questions but it ends up feeling like an interrogation.
