It's sad to realize that there are so many shallow people in the world, people who judge us or make us feel inferior because of something about our appearance.

One great way to counteract this is to know that there are SO many other people who are NOT like this---who see past the surface---who value a person's character and heart and mind----THAT is something that has gotten me through many many moments of almost hating who I was.

The nice people are usually the quiet ones, the ones who go about their business and carry on as normal. They far outnumber the small-mindeds. Cling to what the thinking crowd thinks of you!

Oh---and what makes me feel beautiful? Knowing who I am, 360 degrees of me. Knowing what I have overcome and what I have survived. And, spending time with people who value me for ME.
