I agree with Kris... if payment might be involved, THAT'S GREAT (and yes, you do want to get paid if that is an option .

But if he wasn't speaking of payment, remember that there are many types of other benefits in this world... like Kris said, experience and something to put on your resume, giving you something productive to make use of your time, maybe even fundamentally helping you feel even better about yourself while he benefits from a competent employee.
