I don't think there is an "official word" on these things. Honestly, getting up and doing things if I'm not asleep in 20 minutes just makes things worse. When I'm hypomanic, I can end up staying awake for hours and getting lower quality rest than if I'm just lying in bed, practicing relaxation techniques.
In short, it's just a matter of whatever works best for a person.
