I think for sure. Perhaps though as many find out, the person behind the keyboard is not the person you will meet in real life. It is far easier to be anyone you want to be online and completely different in real life. that is perhaps why people are more open and say things more easily, when it is not face to face. Subsequently, though those emotions may not be real. Simply an act. Plus, the tone of an email/text or chat cannot always be accurately measured, because there is no real tone to them. (thats why most jokes can be misconstrude). Having said all that. I totally, one hundred percent believe in it.

As for the ex that told you that. It was probably not meant that you don't feel love the way you should. It probably meant that she wanted you to love her in a different way, to what you were. Or, it could be that your behaviour did not suggest you had loved another with complete abandon. In order to know that love, you must know true pain -i.e had your heart smashed, but able to repair it and love again, without the bitterness that the pain had brought on initially.
