I believe it's possible, I fell in love with someone I met online, it went on for 8 years until it nearly destroyed my marriage .
I think I was blind to the fact that he is actually a sociopath, but no matter what I will always see the good inside him, love is a personal thing, no one can tell you how and when to love or how much it enough.
but if you have to question how much love you are getting back ... chances are it isn't enough.
Then it's time to find someone who gives as much as you hand out.

For me I had to recognise that he was my nemisis, he was my got to person during my episodes and it was destroying everything including our friendship.
