Getting attached to a character is easier and safer than getting attached to a real person. I think it would be unnatural not to mourn the loss of anything that brings you genuine happiness. Crying, or rereading (even the entire series) seems like a good reaction.

Within reason, of course...

Now, if you did something like shave your head and take a vow of poverty over a Hunger Game character... you might need to reconsider your priorities.
..but even then again... if it was over the biography of Mother Theresa or Ghandi... it could seem within reason.

Do you mind me asking which series you were reading?
It was actually an anime But uh, it's called Death Note, and it's really awesome And so now im kind of obsessed with one of the characters in it...But if you dont like watching anime, you could always read the manga version of Death Note...anyway, thanks
