Jane I didn't grow up there but spent 3 yrs there. I got very use to it but then again I live on the other end of tornado alley. here in Ga they are much more devastating in my opinion in that they hit homes more than in kansas. wheat fields there alot. although they do hit houses too sometimes. but I did get a little use to the constant warnings
