I am so sorry! I agree completely with Hamster. If nothing else, you can always call the police if she's scaring you or anyone else. It's a worry about your niece though and that could be leverage to have her admitted somewhere. My mania was also non stop screaming and violence so my family kind of "tricked" me into going to the hospital to keep me from being arrested. I don't remember much about it, but apparently I kept trying to leave, but once the staff saw how I was behaving, I got a Haldol injection and was immediately committed. I am extremely grateful for that now. When I look back I wonder who that crazy person that destroyed the house was. Basicially, there is hope. I'm still so sorry you're having to deal with that! I wish there was somewhere you could escape to.
