Hi,
Running on emotions can be a very positive thing because you are not buried beneath a dark cloud of depression where emotions are unfelt. It is those times and when you are overwhelmed with emotional energy where it is good to put them down on paper - writing and/or drawing freely whatever comes in your mind then discarding the thoughts and feelings as they arise.
You have a good title to write a thought-provoking book: 'running on emotions' so each time you are racing along with various (wanted and unwanted thoughts) you can develop it and make it relevant to yourself and others, who experience complex emotional stability - I believe that all emotions are positive, even negative ones when they are there for a purpose and demanding our attention. When I am screaming inside, when I am angry and resentful of my situation, it is a cue for me to do something whether it be writing, running or making a huge Picasso style painting.
It is the processing of emotions that we don't how to cope with their enormity - this, I also don't have the answers, yet what I do know is that quashing emotions as soon as they arise, makes them a lot bigger and more intense, so better to find a way of letting them go in whatever way you can and to not feel guilty for finding a way of expressing yourself.
