If you don't have insurance they would probably send you to an iop program. They are pretty common now. When I did an intake I was on the fence and I believe the deal breaker was the fact that I had insurance. Pretty pathetic. If you are a risk to yourself or others they will take you. It's just if you are on the fence and there are cheaper options.
I believe there is a hospital around here that specializes in depression and does a great job of working with your t and follow up. They don't just throw you to the wind when you are discharged. It was actually my t that told me about it.
