Perhaps it wouldn't be the wisest to promise she wouldn't be hospitalized...I mean I agree about reassuring her she wont get in 'trouble' like be punished but depending on how bad the self harm is and if there are suicidal thoughts perhaps hospitalization isn't entirely out of the picture no matter what.
I agree with the rest though.
