My boyfriend hears a negative voice is his head telling him to kill himself and that he is worthless (He is not truly suicidal). He says it is most severe and almost entirely at night. He hasn't slept the last two nights and usually has disruptive sleep. He is kept up by the voice. He said he has had these problems for years. The most concerning part to me- however- is that he has what I interpret as seizures when he gets extremely stressed out- he starts by the voice is his head kind of taking over. A nasty personality takes over and dose everything it can to get rid of me. He is verbally abusive to me and is not himself at all. I can see in his eyes that he is not there. I have never left him alone when this has happened- despite his telling me to leave and attempting to push me away by hurting my emotionally. He has never been physical with me during one of these episodes. As I have no intention of leaving him alone like this- usually this is followed by him laying down and trying to ignore me. He starts to shake and rub his feet together. His eyes roll back in to his head and his mouth is slack. I talk to him and hold his head and tell him to come back… after 15 minutes or so he can usually start to answer me. I can get him to sit up sometimes which usually helps keep him grounded in reality. He never remembers any of the unbelievably horrible things he says to me when he is "gone." And usually asks if he fell asleep and if I'm ok (myself), or if he did something wrong and if we were fighting. He has a severe headache and jaw pain after.

We think he may be schizophrenic. The proble feels to big to him to get help so I'm trying to make it less scary for him by getting some advice before going to the DR. Please help.
