I'm certainly not qualified to disagree with a psychiatrist if they've given you that diagnosis, but I thought a key characteristic of sociopathy was a lack of empathy? That, combined with their a lack of remorse, is why people are so wary of them. They're people who can do negative actions towards others and not feel bad about having done so.
If you're saddened by being unable to help others, wouldn't that mean you must have empathy towards them to
want to help in the first place? Unless helping others would somehow benefit you in some way...
