This might sound strange but I see a holistic dr in addition my regular doctor as I believe there is a healthy balance between traditional medicine and natural medicine. As a result I/we learned that I have circadian rhythm disorder not insomnia. One of tbe holistic approaches to treating this is of course melatonin but another thing that I was told to do was to move my bednso that tbe head of the bed where my pillows are faced the northern magnetic pole. This is supposed to help my body produce more of its own melatonin. Additionally, since I have the freedom to do I sleep when my body wants to sleep which is from abojt 3 or 4 am until 11 am or noon. Its has helped me lot and I no longer take anything specifically to sleep although I do have a mood elavator/stabalizer that is very sedative that i take before bedtime I suspect helps quite a bit.
