I was reading something that said the plane made a turn off course that was headed to the nearest airport, the article stated that experienced pilots know where the nearest airports are in case of emergency, they said the most likely cause was a fire (possibly electrical) and that's why the pilot changed course to land and would explain why the tracking system went off. They said that the most likely thing was it crashed on its way to the emergency landing.
Very sad.
